Summary

The HR & Administrative Coordinator plays a dual role in supporting the Human Resources functions and general office administration for COMCO Controls. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats. The coordinator will support recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and benefits administration, while also providing administrative support across departments including Finance and Office Operations. This is a hands-on position that requires strong interpersonal skills, organizational excellence, and a willingness to learn.

 

 

Qualifications

Human Resources Support

  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communication.
  • Act as a liaison with post-secondary institutions for recruitment and co-op/internship programs.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of documentation, orientation, and exit interviews.
  • Provide timely responses to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, programs, or support issues.
  • Assist with employee record keeping and ensure HR documentation is accurate and confidentially maintained.
  • Collaborate with payroll and finance departments to ensure accurate HR data transfer for payroll processing.
  • Support benefit enrollment, changes, and communication of benefit programs.
  • Help organize employee events and initiatives to foster a positive work environment.

Administrative Support

  • Provide general office administrative support including answering phones, managing supplies, coordinating travel, and maintaining office organization.
  • Assist with accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) documentation and follow-ups as needed.
  • Help with document control, formatting, and standardization across internal reports and communications.
  • Maintain updated internal contact lists, directories, and shared calendars.
  • Support special projects and cross-functional administrative tasks as assigned by the CEO or executive team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices is an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A collaborative and professional attitude with a strong customer service mindset.
